Images of some body parts that can be improved with pilates or rehabilitated with physiotherapy, such as feet and arches for dancers, butt or gluteal muscle definition, hand strength and body alignment, as well as abdominal strength for postural alignment and back strengthening.

This course covers the first unit of mat exercises.
A total of 3 matwork courses will be offered to complete the Matwork instructor’s repertoire.
- Level 1 includes over 40 exercises.
- Involves instruction and practice of each exercise.
- A course workbook will be supplied.
Course duration 16 hours plus assessment.
Assessment
- Attendance at the course
- Completion of work book and submitting this to Pilates Institute of Queensland for assessment
- Logging 30 hours of practicing the exercises
- Logging 15 hours of instructing family and friends
- Present a class at one of our venues or produce a video of yourself taking a class using Level 1 exercises
