This is a prerequisite to all courses.
The course includes:-
- The history and philosophy of Joseph Pilates
- The principles of Pilates exercises
- The relationship of core stability and postural alignment in the context of modern research to the Pilates exercises
- Theory and practical workshops on core stability (intersegmental stability) both abdominal/ pelvic and scapular stability and how to teach and facilitate this.
- Posture types – postural assessment and how this relates to patterns of muscle tightness and weakness.
Course duration 16 hours plus exam and completion of workbook.
